Why Choose ABS-Like Instead of Standard Resin?

ABS-like formulations are generally designed to reduce brittle behaviour and improve toughness compared with conventional standard resins. This makes them worth considering when a dropped model or a small knock could otherwise damage your print.

The benefit depends on the product. Compare impact resistance and elongation figures when choosing a resin for parts that need to tolerate stress or slight deformation.

Toughness Without Losing Sight of Detail

ABS-like resin can combine detailed printing with more practical mechanical performance. However, “ABS-like” describes a photopolymer formulation; it does not mean the print has all the properties of injection-moulded ABS.

Greater toughness also does not automatically mean flexibility, high heat resistance or faster printing.

Check printer compatibility and follow the specified washing and post-curing process, which affects the finished part’s properties.
